Science & Technology Awareness Program




Natural resources are under pressure due to continuous population growth, urbanization and rapid industrialization all around the world. Now it has become a global threat to human health and wellbeing, with both immediate and long term consequences.
Smt. Girija Devi Charitable Trust (Regd.), Ghaziabad has taken initiative to make the younger generation aware of these hazards so that they can bring sustainable changes in their lifestyle in order to protect the perishable natural resources. Under this initiative, Smt. Girija Devi Charitable Trust (Regd.), Ghaziabad organized a program, “Scientific and Technological Development Awareness Program in the field of conservation of natural resources for school children from SC/ST community”, sponsored by National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC) Division, CHILDREN CENTRIC OUTREACH PROGRAM, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, New Delhi.





For the awareness program, five schools from rural areas of Siwan, Bihar were selected to impart knowledge towards conservation of natural resources, waste management, pollution monitoring, climate change to inculcate a sense of duty towards environment and its conservation. The school children were exposed to latest techniques and tools for understanding their environment and hands on experiments on how they can take care of their surrounding environment through simple methods.
The students of following schools participated in the above mentioned Science and Technological Awareness program :

- Uchcha High School, Village Chandaur, Siwan
- Gandak High School Cum Inter College, Village Tarwara, Pachrukhi, Siwan
- Uchcha Madhyamik School, Village Harihans East, Siwan
- Iqra Public School, Village Haque Nagar, Surapur, Siwan
